The American bluesman recorded "Tribute to Jimmy Smith" where he celebrates the jazz master of the Hammond organ who was his teacher. At the dawn of his fiftieth birthday, the singer, guitarist and organist released, in 2014, the album "The Son Of A Bluesman" reminding us that he is more than ever one of the most legitimate depositaries blues. On his latest project, the Buffalo bluesman decided to pay tribute to the Hammond B-3 organ master Jimmy Smith who was one of his teachers (with Bill Doggett). For this "Tribute to Jimmy Smith" recorded in Paris last February, Lucky Peterson (born Judge Kenneth Peterson) invited guitarist Philippe Petrucciani, trumpeter Nicolas Folmer, drummer Herlin Riley and saxophonist Archie Shepp. A highly risky bet as the swing and groove of Jimmy Smith's organ reigned over jazz in the 60s.

Pour ce "Tribute to Jimmy Smith" enregistré à Paris en février dernier, Lucky Peterson (né Judge Kenneth Peterson) a convié le guitariste Philippe Petrucciani, le trompettiste Nicolas Folmer, le batteur Herlin Riley ainsi que le saxophoniste Archie Shepp. Un pari hautement risqué tant le swing et le groove de l'orgue de Jimmy Smith ont régné sur le jazz des années 60.
